This exceptional collection of 5 (now 4) ships represents a historical look at the ‘Nautical Matters’ which founded Australia in the 1700’s –1800’s.
Built by Charles Kehoe over a decade, the 5/4 ships all have historical significance in founding Australia as a Commonwealth. It's estimated that they took over 6,500 man hours to craft. The quality is considered to be classed as "Museum".
The famous Endeavour, Cook’s vessel of discovery, charted Eastern Australia.
The Pandora, (sold) wrecked off the Torres Straights, was sent to capture the Mutineers of the Bounty.
The Zuytdorp which was dispatched by the Dutch and shipwrecked off the Western Australian Coast circa 1712 (New Holland).
The Schooner Mercury, which represented the trade in Australia during the early days of colonization, now appears on the $20 dollar Australian note.
The ship HMS Brig Supply was the naval escort to the First Fleet of Migrants. This ship was the first vessel to raise the Commonwealth flag of Australia on Australian soil, now celebrated as Australia Day. The vessel was also featured on a commemorative Australian $10 dollar note
